SplitPilot: splitting PDF packets into named documents
SplitPilot splits a combined PDF packet into the separate documents inside it, names each one, and flags unclear pages for review. It also turns bank statements into rows and lets you redact text.
SplitPilot came out of document automation work I kept doing for offices. The same job showed up again and again.
The problem
An office gets one big PDF with a lot of documents stuck together. Someone has to find where each one starts, pull it out, name it, and save it. Bank statements come as PDFs too, and someone types the numbers into a spreadsheet.
What SplitPilot does
You drop in one combined PDF. SplitPilot finds where each document starts and ends and names each one. You can download them or send them to Drive.
If it isn't sure where a document ends, it flags that for review instead of guessing.
A bank statement PDF becomes searchable rows that you can export as CSV or JSON.
You can also click on text in a document to redact it, replace it, or highlight it.
Who it's for
Offices that deal with scanned packets, combined forms, and statements, where someone would otherwise split and rename files by hand.
You can try it from the SplitPilot page, and there's more on my document automation page.
Got a pile of PDFs that someone splits by hand every week? Tell me about it and I'll take a look.
