The boring automation that gives a morning back

Nobody asks us for Python. They ask us to stop logging into the same website at 7:40.

The useful automations are almost never impressive in a demo. Log in. Download. Rename. Drop the file where the other system expects it. Send a note if it failed.

If that sequence is done by a person every weekday, it is already a product. We just take the person out of the loop.

Reliability matters more than cleverness. A process that runs itself Tuesday and silently fails Wednesday is worse than the original.
