Custom software for the workflow off-the-shelf tools miss

Most small businesses do not need a new platform. They need one tool that does the job their software skips: the spreadsheet that three people update by hand, the export that has to be cleaned before anyone can use it, the report someone rebuilds every Monday. Nexus Consulting builds that tool for businesses in Queens, Nassau County, and across Long Island.

When custom software makes sense

  • Your team copies the same data between two systems that do not connect
  • A spreadsheet has become the system, and only one person understands it
  • A SaaS product covers most of the job but not the step that takes the most time
  • The same report or file packet gets assembled by hand every week

What we build

Small, focused internal tools: a matching engine that reads bank and processor exports, a utility that splits and names scanned document packets, a dashboard that pulls figures from the portals you log into. Each one is scoped to a single workflow so it can be in use quickly, then extended once it proves itself.

Tools we have already built

RecoNexus matches incoming payments to the records they belong to, and SplitPilot turns combined PDF packets into named, filed documents. Both started as one office's repeated task and became working software.

How a project runs

We start by watching the workflow as it runs today and writing down every step, file, and exception. Then we build against your real files, not sample data, and hand over a tool your team can run without us in the room. You keep the code and the data.

Start with one workflow

If the slow part is logging into portals, see portal automation. If it is documents, see document automation. Otherwise, describe the task in the contact section and we will tell you plainly whether a custom tool is worth building.
